Who: SOAS DANCE SOCIETY, founded 2014.
What: Dance Soc is active and prominent on the student arts and entertainment scene. Aiming to be an entry point to the world of dance for students of whatever level, we host beginners’ workshops in a variety of forms such as Ballet, K-pop, Contemporary and Hip hop. We take part in competitions and events organized by prominent universities like UCL, King’s College London and Kingston University. For the 2016 UCL show we won awards in the following categories: Best Male performer, 1st in trio (Hip Hop), 2nd in Solo (waacking) category and 2nd in Wildcard (contemporary/jazz) category. We also take part in big non-university dance shows and festivals such as ‘Ignition Dance Festival’ hosted at the Hammersmith Lyric Theatre.
